SLW?/No Rose comb 12wks.

I got this girl at local farm store-they said
they were silver laced. I asked SLW-they didn't know.
This is at 3 wks.

Today at 12wks.

That's a SLW, hatchery bird. (All of my flock of various breeds - but one little lavender cochin - are hatchery birds.)

And she's a pullet.

Looks like a single comb instead of a rose comb, but looks SL and looks like a pullet!

Thanks for confirming. She's a beautiful
girl. I didn't realize hatchery birds didn't
have the rose comb. I'm learning something
new all the time on here. I have a Golden Sebright
roo w/o rose comb too.

The single comb is a genetic throwback to when the breed was formed. It crops up from time to time, more so in hatchery stock. A couple of my production gold laced wyandottes from Stromberg's have it.
