Small Chick ate a balloon

You can’t force the chick to eat, you can end up injuring it. Try scrambling some egg and offer that, or try wetting her chick feed and see if it will eat that. Keep the dirt in a small dish and leave it available. Unfortunately if the chick won’t eat on its own, it’s not thriving and probably best to let nature take its course. I did have a chick that was only a few days old when she ate some bits of hard plastic; she was fine and lived to adulthood. Good luck, I hope your chick will be ok!
No one is talking about force feeding it feed. The issue is feeding it oil, and putting chunks of coconut oil in the chickens beak is a commonly accepted form of treatment for crop, gizzard, and bowel impaction.

I've syringe fed meds for chickens so many times I couldn't count. I would say a total of 3-4 months over the years of one to two dosages a night for various issues here and there. I've never, ever injured a bird or caused it to aspirate. Just like a child, you can't put medicine in front of a chicken and hope for the best. If a bird is sick, you need to do something. Either cull it or treat it, but simply hoping for the best is a poor solution in my opinion.

I certainly advice caution when administering meds, don't shove anything down the chickens throat, don't slowly trickle meds into it's beak, just get it done and over with, use common sense, etc., but a chicken will naturally swallow when something is placed on its tongue.

Ok

Um, what is it? It's not a chicken??

Regardless, it looks like it's trying to move its head around which could be another sign indicating a blockage. Just continue with the oil and if it stops popping, check out that article I linked to (https://www.farmhealthonline.com/disease-management/poultry-diseases/crop-impaction/) about administering Epson salt water to help move a blockage.

And keep updating this thread if you can! I think at this point there isn't a whole lot to do except wait. You can still offer some scramble egg, too. If you have access to chicken vitamins to mix in the water, that's not a bad idea either.
