Small egg and so proud

My 3-year old Leghorn still lays an egg every now and then. Today she came out of the nesting box announcing very proudly that she dropped an egg. When my husband brought it in, he couldn’t stop laughing. It was about a 1 1/2” and somewhat hard shelled.

Lol! I had a chicken lay an egg the size of a robins egg, right after she recovered from a traumatic experience. I thought the egg was so cute, so I wanted to blow it. i got my needle and started trying to poke a hole. Sadly, the egg was crushed between my fingers. I waited for egg yolk to get all over me, but nope--the egg had no insides!!
