Small eggs?

Hi I am new to this group and being a chicken caregiver. We recently adopted two 1 1/2 year old RI reds. We have had them for about a month and they have been laying constantly, every other day. The past week through one of the chickens in laying really, really tiny eggs about the size of an avocado seed. What could be causing this. The other one is laying very large eggs still.

I would bet that these eggs do not have yolks in them. Have you looked inside?

I dont have a good explanation as to why that happens. I just know that it has happened to me.

hmmmmm...... I just cracked one open and you were right no yolk. Did your chickens like this start laying normally on their own?

Yes they eventually stopped the small eggs and started to lay normal ones.
