Hi All, I have 2 chickens that are 5 mo. old - one or both (can't tell) just started laying eggs. The eggs are very small - only about 2" long. My other 2 chickens (that are older) are laying normal to jumbo size eggs. Is there a reason why the eggs are so small or is it because they/she just started laying and they will get bigger in time?

Thank you!!

They usually start small and work their way up to the big ones, it takes a while for the egg machinery in those girls to get the process down. Also check the eggs for a yolk, sometimes hens will lay what is called a fart egg with no yolk.

Pullet eggs are so cute aren't they?
