I have a quick question. I just received some Salmon Faverolle eggs that I purchased off Ebay. I got 7, two I would consider medium sized but the other 5 are tiny. Much smaller than my smallest backyard mixed pullet egg. Does anyone know anything about this breed and are these eggs even worth the incubator space (other than the $$ spent on them). I can't imagine how tiny the chick will be that (maybe) hatches out of it. I need to put them in tomorrow. Thanks for advice.

What's it gonna hurt?

I let my youngest pullets hatch whatever eggs they want and they have hatched eggs you wouldn't believe how small the chick was.

And those tiny chicks do OK? Do they grow up to be "runty" chickens?

I've never noticed that to be the case. Now of course genetics such as egg size might be a factor that you don't want to pass down but also remember that all pullets lay smaller eggs for the first several months.
