Almost as soon as my bf purchased his family home outside city limits he was on a mission for chickens. We have four Mutt hens that's should start layin in October-December and two roosters a Rhode Island Red and our big gold one that the breed always escapes me. I just purchased two Croad Langshan hens. They haven't quite made it in the flock yet but one is already laying so I'm really doting on her and got her a vip box for now. With two boys I've kept them away from the girls because I just don't have enough to go around and I'm a pretty protective dad. I'm hoping to get so more girls so both the Roos have enough to satisfy their needs and the girls can still keep looking and feeling good.

That's a good idea to be sure you have enough girls to go around, those guys can be pretty rough sometimes. It sounds like you don't have a lot longer to wait for eggs, that 1st one is always special (the following ones aren't bad either, lol).

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm glad to hear that you understand the necessity of having plenty of hens for your roosters to keep the roosters from over-breeding them. The recommended ratio is 1 rooster for every 10 hens. If you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. Well I'm still trying to introduce my new Croad girls. They are smaller than my 4 others I just let everyone move around freely but I haven't put the two new girls in with my 4 bigger girls. Anyway something must have happened this morning and my laying new girl really did a number on my not yet laying girl. She is a little bloody and missing a lot of feathers on her head and neck but seems fine. She is separated now. Are there any tips to helping integrate all my girls together?
New chickens have to be integrated into an already existing flock very slowly and carefully using the "look but don't touch" method. There is a good article at https://poultrykeeper.com/general-chickens/introducing-new-chickens/ explaining how to do it.
