Hello everyone! What a nice welcome. I'm in Stafford county near Fredericksburg. I've got a few chickens that I'm unable to identify so all this knowledge on the thread will come in handy!

Welcome to BYC. I, too, would be inclined to turn the aggressive rooster into coq au vin.

I'm going to agree with @007Sean and @sourland about the aggressive rooster. For fertile eggs, 1 rooster can 'handle' 8-10 females.

There is never a good reason to keep a bad rooster. Also beware of" friends/dentists "offering free birds - 9.5 times out of 10 they will be roosters and mean ones at that.
