Within the last few days noticed these small bugs flying around my chickens. I'm having trouble identifying them or figuring out a remedy if there is any.
Some things to note:
I have some chicken dust I plan on covering them in this evening when they go to roost. For now I'm just concerned because I don't know if this is just normal bugs from being outside or something worse. Didn't have these issues last year but last year around this time it was a lot hotter and drier.

- Not all of my chickens seem to be bothered by this only 3 out of 7
- We have had a lot of rain recently and they haven't had many chances to bathe in their usual spots. They don't usually like to use the baths we setup for them
- I've sprayed the afflicted with permethrin but doesn't seem to have made a difference
- When we went to spray after they roosted for the night we checked feathers around the necks, head, and wings and didn't see any bugs.
