Small mound of dirt in my chicken run

I found a small mound of very fine dirt in my run this morning. It was ground so fine it looked like powder. No hole, no evidence of an animal. I'm stumped.

Might be earthworms. They will leave small mounds of casings that if dry enough will just appear as finely ground dirt. So if you have material in the run that is breaking down, it will draw the earthworms in.

Ants do that in my neck of the woods.

Ants do it here, too, but they leave an entry hole on the center.
