Small nesting box for Broody Hen

Here is her setup. I did have them just sitting out but the large hens came and ate everything. So I made a little room for them.

mama has decided to move out of the nest with her little ones. Should I move the remainder of the eggs down to her?

I moved the 4 remaining eggs under Mama but when I checked on her about 30 minutes later she wasn't actually sitting on them. Maybe she's not interested anymore. Not sure what to do now.

Pick up the eggs and listen to them. If you hear nothing, feel no movement, or if they slosh, they are duds. I think you should be happy with the four you have.

If you have an incubator, you could try that. Because if I remember right, you said 4 eggs were added late. Your choice, but even if they hatch, she might not take them, later - on the other hand she might.

nothing is more fun than a hen and chicks.

I'll do that. Thanks!

I checked the eggs. There were chicks but the eggs were ice cold so I threw them out. She hasn't been sitting on them at all. Her attention was completely on her babies. Sad in a way.
