How would the rooster hurt the duck with spurs?

For some reason the rooster decides to attack the duck and he uses his spurs and easily really hurt your duck. They can cause some serious puncture wounds. My ducks are a lot nicer to each other than my chickens.

Ok my chickens are 26 weeks old, so my "rooster" has little stubs. And I wanted to get 1 year old ducks if I could.
