My 3.5 year old hen has had this issue for a while but I have not made a fuss of it because she was eating and drinking well and her poop was normal. She is molting right now so she is feeling poorly and eating less (my chickens always feel like this during a molt so for them it's normal, but it's the non-disapearing lump that worries me). Basically, before her molt when she was eating normally, her crop was nice and full before nighttime. In the morning when I would check her crop, it would empty well but she would still have this small, ping-pong size maybe a bit smaller, soft lump on the left side of her chest. The crop is on the right side, so I'm a bit confused. Could it still be the crop that has expanded to the left side? Anyway, she has had this for over a year but since she was acting totally normal I thought it could maybe be nothing in particular, but none of my other chickens have them. Now that she is molting and feeling poorly because of the molt, I am more worried because her poops are green and sometimes more liquid. I don't know if the strange lump could have anything to do with it.
Could it be sour crop? I read a lot about it but the symptoms don't really match with my hen..
Did anyone experience something similar?
