I have an Amercauna, roughly 6 months old, hasn’t started laying yet (I think). Over the past couple weeks, I’ve noticed her crop becoming bulgy. Last night I pulled her out of the coop for observation at around 10pm. Her crop was (and remains today, at 5pm after nothing but water all day) a noticeable lump. It’s not hard, but not super squishy either—it feels like a lump of fat. Her energy/appetite has seemed normal, and her poops in the cage today are normal too.

Photos in sequence: last night, this morning, just now.

From what I’ve been researching online, it seems like this is maybe pendulous crop? How worried should I be?? I don’t know if I should be rushing her to the vet or just keeping an eye on her behavior.

I'd leave her with her flock and just pull her aside to address the crop issue.

In the photos, her crop has emptied some. I'd treat as Sour and Impacted, see if it goes down.

6months of age is quite young to be having a Pendulous Crop.

Get some photos of her poop. See that she's drinking well and eating her normal food. Do provide Grit (Crushed Granite) free choice for your flock.

Work on the crop, treat that symptom and IF after a time the crop is still not emptying overnight (After a Full Nights Sleep, dusk to morning), then you may need to consider pendulous crop and work on a bra for her.
