small time breeder - worth the effort?

I forgot that I also wanted to ask the OP why they think they can't sell eggs for more. What are others selling there eggs for? In my area eggs sell for 3-5 for chicken eggs and 5-6 for duck eggs. Have you tried to raise your prices to see if they would sell for more? Are there a lot of people selling eggs in your area?

Eggs for consumption in this area sell for 2.00/dozen. We're not feeding organic or anything fancy (though they do free range), so if we asked more than 2.00/dozen they simply would not sell. I think I am one of the few to offer duck eggs, though, so I don't know what my competition (if there is any) would sell them at.
