Hey y'all. I just started raising my chickens about 8-9 months ago. I have a pair of Americaunas, a White Rock hen, Black Jersey Giant hen, and a New Hampshire rooster. My chicken house is a converted "clubhouse" that I purchased for $200. It's inside the chicken yard, which is about 25' wide by 20' deep. The birds really like it. The hens have been laying for about 4 weeks, now. Got my first double-yolk egg from my Americauna hen, this week. Nice pretty light green. I'm trying to find out which breed lays the largest eggs, so let me know if your knowledgeable on the issue.

I'm glad you joined us.

Sounds like you have a nice coop and chicken yard! Congratulations on the first egg. I have an Americana too, and I really enjoy her lovely green eggs.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Congratulations on that double egg, they are always fun! Commercial White Leghorns, the various commercial sexlinks (especially reds), and Delawares lay the biggest eggs consistently ime.

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

Congrats on the first egg! So egg-citing when that happens.

Glad you joined our flock!
