Small yellow worms/maggots in stool?? *PIC* HELP!

@casportpony I saw this on one of the older threads. For Corid dosage - is it 3/4 tsp per gallon of water for 5 days and then decreased (halved?) for 5-7 more days?
I got the equimax today but will have to dose tomorrow. Thank you again for your help! :hugs
Most people use the severe outbreak dose for five days. The mfg and the FDA say to give another 7-14 days at the 1/3 tsp per gallon (powder) or 1/2 tsp per gallon (liquid). Does that help?

Usually for an outbreak of cocci, 2 tsp of the liquid or 1.5 tsp of the powder Corid per gallon of water for 5-7 days is good. Some give another 5 days with 1/3 of the dose.

Hello there @Eggcessive ! Here you are again helping me with another sick chick :hugs

So... is it 1/3 of the outbreak dosage or 1/3 tsp per gallon of water? (I'm using the powder, btw)

Thank you for your help! :bow

Day 1-5 give severe amount of 1.5 tsp per gallon, then on day 6 give 1/3 tsp per gallon for 7-14 days. I'm lazy, so I rarely give it longer than 12 days.

Okay! I have been doing 3/4 tsp per 1/2 gallon because I've been changing it daily and 5 birds don't drink that much in that amount of time. I will switch to 1/3 tsp per gallon - unless I can halve that...

Managed to treat chickens with Equimax by smearing dosage on individual mealworms and hand-feeding them the "treats" I tried putting it on bread first and none of them took the bait... That stuff must taste awful because they all acted like children taking cough syrup! But here's to hoping for improvement... :fl Thank you all again for your input and help!

Glad you got them done! Do be sure to get some poop pictures if you see evidence of tapes being passed, but don't worry if you don't see them, 'cause often they just get digested.

Repeat in 10-14 days.

Will do! I wrote it on my calendar so I remember :thumbsup

Also - even though I have Corid in the water for the next week, should I give them some nutri-drench as well? I had read somewhere about offering vitamin supplements during medication, but just wasn't sure about mixing the two together? Or if it is even necessary?
