Smaller Egg than usual

Ok this morning I collected a normal Bantom sized egg and one 2/3rds the size. Only a week prior to this I introduced my two Bantom Silkies to my 2 "2 1/2 year old" wyendottes.
My friend told my this smaller egg could be the first of the silkies, or the last of the wyendottes.
Could you help? Thanks

At the beginning and end of a chickens egg laying cycle they can lay smaller eggs.
