My hen usually lays big eggs but the last two have been small and one really small. She doesn't seem sick or bothered by anything. Her comb is bright red and she's eating and acting normally. Is it normal for them to lay smaller eggs sometimes?
She's free range but I give them feed and veggie scraps...

The first that I am holding is her normal sized egg

She's been laying for a while.... Like several months. I was wondering if it was the weather. Winter, foggy days, etc. We live in Fl so we don't get the crazy weather most do

Could be that she's getting ready to take a break. Quite normal for this time of year. As the days shorten, production slows and eventually stops. A few odd eggs can happen as the reproductive system shuts down. As the days begin to lengthen, laying will resume.
