Actually get out of the RAIN. Pics tomorrow if it will STOP raining. I put the six week old poults and their rock and RIR cohorts out into the grow out pen out of sheer desperation.

It's not finished but I'd rather build with the horde under foot than see them go unexercised and over crowded for another few days.

So today is their first day where *gasp* they could get rained on and it poured. After a few moments of "what the ...." they all went looking for shelter. Go figure.

They'd never been so much as damp before. I know that most turkey people knew that turkeys weren't dumb enough to drown but thought I'd throw my immediate experience into the mix. TADA they got out of the rain.

I'm throwing together a pallet coop and grow out pen for the Delawares and up and coming turkey horde.

I'll need another pen but one thing at a time. LOL.

I have taught turkey poullts to drink out of a rabbit water bottle.
they catch on rather quickly actually. only issue is the" ohhhh shiney object" and will drain the bottles while pecking at it.
I would suggest raised wire cages if you put in water bottles.
other wise the make one mell of a hess. but it is entertaining to watch.
