smashed egg is progressing

I received some eggs through the post and two were cracked.they had small dents where the shell had broken,I put some tape over the dents and one of them has progressed,They are cheeping in their shells as I type including the one with tape on,I didnt expect it to survive has anyone hatched a damages egg before and will the chick be ok?

I have used wax to seal eggs that had cracks to the shell, but the membrains were intact, and gotten healthy chicks from them. The only time I had a problem was when I sealed a goose egg, baby had a very large head it couldn't pick up
