My Social Studies fair is coming up soon, and my topic is "What are the effects of smoking and what makes it so addictive?" So for any smokers out there, I have a few simple questions that would help me a lot.

1. What age were you when you started smoking?
2. What age are you now?
3. How has smoking effected you medically?
4. How many cigarettes/packs do you smoke a day, on average?
5. Have you ever tried to quit?
6. What brand do you smoke?
7. How has it effected people around you?
8. Do you regret smoking? If not, BE HONEST.
9. Why did you start smoking?

Thanks. This is just a survey I'll be doing for my presentation. No personal info will be shared. No names or anything like that, just putting the percentages on a chart. Thank you for responding--- it helps a bunch!

10.Did you start smoking at a legal age?
*11. (THIS QUESTION IS OPTIONAL, ONLY PEOPLE WHO HAVE QUIT CAN ANSWER.) Why and HOW did you quit? Was it hard?

3) Hasnt really - knock on wood
4) half a pack - about 10
5)Yes
6)Marlboro
7) i have friends that dont like it and are always on me to quit - but it hasnt really "affected" anyone persay

I made an observation which I'm not sure is true of other families or not.
my dh family both mom and dad smoked when they had baby #1 and baby#2- both as adults now smoke.
when baby #3 came along, parnet both had quit. baby#3 does not smoke.
in my own family neither parent smoked and none of the 5 kids do.
I wondered if as children (this is before even smoked outside the house and car) both kids got addicted and when they got old enough to smoke, they started up while child #3 was not exposed to the 2nd hand smoke and hense, not addicted.

#1- 12
#2- 53
#3- Lack of breath to do cardio related jobs & coughing
#4- about 2 packs a day (approx. 40 cigs)
#5- I tried to quit cigs by smoking cigars, so I wouldn't inhale, then I was hooked on cigs & cigars, inhaling the stogies
#6- I smoked Viceroy for 25 years until they quit making them, now it's the cheapest generic
#7- DW also smokes, but family doesn't so they have to put up with the smell. It's also a challenge to keep the teeth clean
#8- If you don't smoke.....DON'T START!! I regret starting "because it was cool" in the 1960's
