Snacks for chickens?

Cat food is a winner around here. Apple bits and cantaloupe guts seem to go over well.

I feed my wyandotte and sussex chickens Mealworms As a daily treat! (If We have any mealworms that is) They just adore munching on them and they come running to the gate when I shake the packet of mealworms So I suggest giving mealworms as a treat because they are eggcellent! (Get the pun?)

Mine get mostly ‘scratch’ with mealworms as a treat, but also any leftover produce like lettuce, green beans, etc. they LOVE blueberries. Occasionally they’ll get a hard boiled egg. I do give them cooked rice/pasta but try to minimize it. Nothing is funnier than watching a hen run around playing keep away with spaghetti!! Here’s the flock enjoying some cabbage I can’t find a use for.

Edit: I also buy red wigglers from the pet store for my other pets and they are a big hit with the gals.
