Snacks for chicks?

Well I tried to give my 6-day old silkies tiny pieces of carrots and later tried a boiled egg- neither were a success. They looked at the carrots like they were a predator and would not go near them and the egg they ran past as fast as possible. I think maybe they are still too young because from everything I've read, boiled eggs are usually a huge success. Or I just have some very strange birds haha.

hope OP doesnt mind joining this question,am wondering along the same lines as well, but also woud love to know if they need to be on extra grit to cope with
the snacks? mine are on smallholder chick crumbs and are still indoors ,woud love to give them the odd treat along with our lady of leisure ex bat, cheers if can answer anyone and sorry to OP-woud recommend dried meal worms, our ex bat goes bonkers over them. :D

Generally people recomend about 2 weeks old before giving treats. If you must try something soft like plain yogurt. Mine love their starter mixed with a little water to make a mush of sorts.
