Snake ID

Non venomous and a friend....... will help keep the rodents down but as pointed out it may enjoy and egg
from time to time. He can bite you but is just as afraid of you as you are of him.
Good snake to have around IMO

the lady with 4 dogs, 4 city chickens, 4 meat rabbits, 7 kits and a lizard

I personally like the non-venomous snakes because they, (esp black snakes) are territorial, and keep the bad snakes away. My chicks and juniors stay safely locked up until they are close to the size of a grownup.

I agree with Seminolewind, I would just make sure you pens are snake proof, we had a resident Coachwhip but last year the dogs finally ran it off and the first time in 3 years we have lived here we had a rattlesnake in our yard 3 days ago. They will run off the rattlesnakes, scorpions etc.
