Snake in my ducks nest

The snake is just a medium garter snake. The eggs are in the process of hatching (external pips). We chased the snake off once, but of course it came back. Will a garter snake eat ducklings? Just not sure how much disruption we should cause at this stage.
 
Yes, it will eat the eggs and ducklings. Did the snake scare mom away, did she not care, or was she not there? As much as I love snakes, I love my birds more. You need to get rid of it for good because he will continue to return. Or, you need to move the nest.
 
The moms just ignore them. Not the first one we had, but the first while hatch was in process. Never had any eggs disappear. We have assumed it is the warmth that is attracting them.
