snake problem...will this kill them

ok. I am starting to miss lots of eggs. Wife saw a 6 foot snake the other day and ran, instead of killing it....So, will this kill it? I know they have a good smell so not sure if it will work. I was going to blow out a chicken egg. Then fill it with bleach.....Snake eats, crushes egg, bleach is released, dead snake?????? Will the snake eat the egg? Will it smell the bleach? I just killed a coral snake the other day and I do not want any more deadly snakes in the yard.

Plaster of paris may work better and have no smell like bleach. Good luck.

It may kill any chicken that tries it. You know they are silly and eat things they shouldn't! I agree with ShiningFeather, try plaster of paris, or even a hot mustard inside the blown out egg. Or a good sharp shovel will take care of the problem...

There is nothing stronger than the smell of bleach. Better known as Mustard Gas in WW1. Snakes have an excellent sense of smell. How then do you think they will react?

If the wife did not run, it would be dead....she freaks out when she sees a snake.

What will the mustard do?

Should the plaster be put in, in the powder form right.

You can actually buy a product called Snake Away that does work. You put a line of it down and they will not cross it. My mom uses it and she has seen it work! I wouldn't recommend putting it inside the coop or anywhere the chickens have access to, but you could sprinkle it around the outside of the coop to see if it would help.

moth balls works, I put them around the chicken house, if you are scared that the chicken will eat the moth balls, put them in a soda bottle poked with holes, snakes hate the smell and will NOT come around.... good luck
