How do y'all keep snakes and mice out of the coop and run?
I'll be trying that!!If you are having troubles with mice in your coop and you have a big metal feed can, fill it up with a foot of grain and leave the lid open a crack, then put it up next to a wall beam or the wire of the coop. The mice jump in there and cant jump out, I have caught 7 in one night before, throw some peanut butter in there to really lure the mice in. Free, easy, and low effort live mouse trap. Who knows, maybe a snake will jump in after the miceI don't need to deal with chicken & egg eating snakes so I have no good tricks to keep them out.
I found the mouse can trick by accident, I left the food can lid open a crack one day and the next day there was a mouse in the can I let him free, by accident, I was trying to give the chickens some fun food but he managed to dart up a beam in the coop and escape, I left the food can open again and the next day there was 3 in there, the mouse brought his buds. I let them all go, on purpose, the next day there was 7, I ended the party that dayNo more mice have came to my food can recently

Where can I get a zapper? I've never heard of them .If you get your mice out the snakes will probably follow. I put a live catch trap "a big one" in the coop and loaded up with peanut butter next morning had 5 mice, 3 the next and no mice after. I've got one of those electric mouse zappers around the feed and it definitely does the job.

Every time I think about mice, I think about the plague. I don't want my feather babies to get sick.I got mine at home depot it's called a victor multikill electric mouse trap. They go in and don't come out.![]()

Looks like I'm headed to town tomorrow then!I don't like them pooping and peeing on everything, and they can chew on chickens plus like you said the diseases and bugs. They're welcome to go be mice, just not in my coop. BTW that trap runs on batteries and it says it can kill 100 mice on one set so you can put it anywhere.![]()
