I can't believe it, but I rescued a snake today! My husband found a black snake, about 2', tangled in deer netting. The poor baby is terrified of snakes, so he cut out a huge portion of the netting and tossed it .. snake and all.
When I came home, the snake was still alive, although the netting was bound pretty tight in a few places. I cut it out of the netting and set it loose way down the driveway.
I just didn't have the heart to chop his head off while tangled in the netting. Nor did I want to just toss it to the chickens. But ... if he's dead in the morning in the place where I tossed him, can I chuck him into the run? They'll eat dead snake? My husband won't take well to that! LMAO He freaked when I told him we could give the girls our roast chicken carcass after dinner.
