I may have shared my snake(s) stories -- we used the golf ball trick and the sucker ate it and just continued to hang around. Yes, he got lethargic which made it easier to catch him/her. Last week, my little silkie hatched five babies and a darn snake ate two of them and a nearby egg due to hatch five days later.
Well, BF slit the snake open and found the egg and discovered a close-to-fully-developed chick. BF gutted the snake, and fed the remains to the hens -- poetic justice, right?????
I'm going to try the moth balls, though...

What a woman, though, grabbing a snake bare-handed; I'd want you in my covered wagon if I were heading West some 150+ years ago!!!
