Yesterday when my chickens were outside (they go inside their coop at night) I noticed one of them was eating a small snake.

Is this normal behavior? I moved the -dead- snake away from the chicken and it just walked away. Was it alright that the chicken was eating the snake? And if so, what other non-chicken foods is it safe for them to eat?

Thank You!

Snakes, lizards, mice. You name it. I'm sure when the rains come here mine will be munching on frogs. Protein!
