I have a small flock of chickens that I let free range for 3-4 hours every day. I like to keeo an eye on them and go out and do the chicken count every 30 minutes. This week I couldn't find my 4 year old Black Austrolop for an hour or so and then she just showed up at closing in time. This has happened 3 out of 4 days this week and today I saw her running out from the brush behind the garden to rejoin the flock. Do you think she is hiding her eggs back there somewhere??

I'd be suspicious. Sounds like it's time to have an egg hunt.
