I have three, 3 week old chicks, and recently one started sneezing, and now another one is doing it? I personally have a cold myself, could they of got it of me as I'm hand rearing them? Thanks guys!

No. Chickens don't get human colds, and people don't get the respiratory illnesses chickens do. Often, sneezing in young chicks is due to irritation from the dust and dander they produce and put into the air, and they simply need a larger space with better air exchange -- or to be outdoors. If they have a respiratory illness, it is a lot more serious than a human cold -- but if sneezing is their only symptom, hopefully it is not.

I keep medicated feed for the hope that it would avoid any of the basic common illnesses of baby chicks - seems if they survive the first couple of weeks they do great (for me) but if they get sick early they don't usually make it despite all the sugar water and other things I have been told to try,

I have adhered closely to the temperature guidelines like 90-95 for week one and 85-90 for week two through three and such so this has hopefully also helped keep them safer.

The trick here for me has been lacrossetechnology.com thermometer has a battery transmitted temp reading I can watch at my desk so I know usually right away if it is getting too cold in there for them (or too hot)

FYI here is the model found it in the clearance bin at cabelas

Thank you guys, I let them out side in a pen during the day as its about 24'C here, but at night they come inside so they are away from other animals.. And they are only just getting their feathers so they might freeze

Thanks for all your help!:)
