I've got two 3 week old chicks and 7 more younger ones, between 4-7 days old, in another box but in the same room (my bathroom) . None of them are vaccinated yet or have been given any antibiotics or medication. I thought i could hear the older ones sneezing occasionally and now i was just handling them and one sneezed on me and i noticed it's nose is wet. What should i do? These are my first chickens so i need all the advice i can get. What do they need to be vaccinated for? I live in Macedonia (south east Europe) i don't have a clue what chicken diseases they get here, or if it's even different than else where in the world? How do you vaccinate them, with an injection or by putting something in the water? Do the need antibiotics? Should i treat them all with antibiotics or just the ones that are sneezing? Should i separate them so it doesn't spread to the others? They have contact with each other when i clean them out because i want them to get used to each other and not fight, but i then put them back in separate boxes. Should i put them in different rooms?
I'm also keeping them very clean, changing the bedding daily and the water sevral times a day whenever it gets dirty. But the older chicks have a water bottle so it's not getting contaminated. And they otherwise appear healthy. Clear eyes, clean vent, normal poo, eating and drinking and flapping about and tweeting a lot.
Is it likely just a cold that will pass?
