Sneezing Chicken

when we got our chicks they would sneeze a little. now ours are almost a year old and they still sneeze ounce in a while. i would not be worried about it. I'm new to this chicken thing i did quite a bit of research before we got our babies. there are a lot of other great websites but I've found this is the best. i know this is a stupid question but how do you post thing or ask questions on the forum? hope that helped you a bit.

Sneezing can be from environmental reasons (like dust) or it can mean they they are ill. I'd quarantine the bird for a month if possible. Some things will even pass quarantine without you knowing (asymptomatic carrier status) but generally a 4 week quarantine is prudent.

If the bird is ill you should see other signs of illness like eye drainage, coughing, lethargy, etc. unless they have gotten to the point of being an asymptomatic carrier.

You might look up "chronic respiratory disease" on byc if you want to know some of the bad things it could be (like MG).

I have dusty coops and sometimes I hear a sneeze but no worries.

Okay. I haven't really introduced her yet, she is in a little pen to the side of the main coop. I haven't yet gotten her a buddy (although she doesn't seem to mind) and she isn't acting lethargic or anything, it's just she sneezes a lot. I kind of suspect it may be of the enviornment, although I will keep her away from the other chickens just to be on the safe side.

Thanks!
