I noticed this hen was not following the rest of the pack 2 weeks ago. She started to just stay in the run and rest. She was eating and drinking, and I did not notice anything else different. She is part of a new group that I introduced 2 months ago.
Anyways, a couple days ago I noticed that she was a bit too docile. I checked her mouth for a bad order, but nothing was there. Her crop was on the empty side. Then she sneezed. Shortly after I herd rattling noises when she breathed. Since then her eyes have closed up and I have had to clean them.
I started her on Bactrim, as this is the main antibiotic vets give her in Sweden. You can not go to a store to purchase these kinds of meds. I have bottles from previous chicken issues. Today she was up and walking, but her eyes were shut again, and she is still gurgling. So now I have bathed her, blow dried her, powdered her and given her her meds. I will keep her up in the house. We are force feeding her and giving her water through a dropper. She has ACV in her water and she is receiving yoghurt with vits.
What I need to figure out is what she has. If she has Aspergillosis, I need to add and anti-fungal. Her eyes are red and inflamed looking, once I clean the crust off. Her throat looks fine. I have not see enough of her droppings yet, other then a somewhat watery white dropping once.
How can I narrow down the problem based on her symptoms. I have check the other birds, and everyone looks and sounds fine.
