Question: If I give antibiotics to one chicken, should I give it to the rest of my flock? I only have 3 chickens.

History:
She became sick in April, treated for cocci - twice. Poop never went back to normal, but she put on weight and started acting normal. She did have some sneezing, but it passed on its own. I had another chick die from it, but the other 2 never showed any symptoms.

Summer went fine. Other than her liquid poop, she seems healthy. I did try probiotics and various other things to try to fix the problem, but nothing worked.

Now she's sneezing again, poop is still liquid, but otherwise still acting normal, weighs normal, etc. I was initially trying to avoid antibiotics, but I'm just tired of her being slightly sick and it's really the only thing I haven't tried. I recently came by some free Tylan 50, and so I want to give it a try to see if it does anything.

The other 2 seem fine, and still haven't shown any signs of any illness.

It would be good to take a few fresh droppings in to a vet for a fecal test to look for coccidia or worms. Runny droppings all her life does not sound normal. It can occur with a respiratory disease. It sounds like she may have a chronic respiratory disease such as mycoplasma (MG.) Sneezing can also be a sign of infectious bronchitis, but once they get over that, they shouldn't get sick again. MG can come back again any time that a chicken is stressed. Sometimes they can have more than one disease. Are you seeing any others sick now, or at the same time she was earlier? Tylan 50 injectable can be good for treating MG, but I would give it orally. Dosage is 0.2 ml per pound given twice a day for 5 days. You may want to get some testing locally to find out what you are dealing with.

Unfortunately I looked into the vet/fees/testing, and as we are currently going through a very rough financial year, and even harder near future, there's just no way I can afford it. I'm hoping that trying this will do something...

Should I treat them all? Or just her?

Update: she's on day 3 of tylan and her poops, for the first time in months, have a shape. So whatever it was, antibiotics are helping.
