Snohomish County, Washyourhandsington

I just moved to Snohomish on the 1st of the year and yesterday I got my 1st ever chicks. (Two so far and I plan to have ½ dozen within the next couple of weeks.) I never thought I would be a chicken person, but when I moved to Snohomish and found myself on a little bit of land with a chicken coop already built, chickens were all I could think about.

Can I ask where you go for chick supplies? So far I've been to the feed stores in both Bothell & Monroe. I just heard about the Snohomish Co-Op and was thinking of checking that out.

We have a few local feed stores out here in Arlington. We have the Arlington Co-op just like Snohomish Co-op and we also have Strotz Country Feed and I like Strotz a lot because they are very helpful with animals and feed and such. I use to work their and still sometimes. And by the way they're having chicks this weekend so if you'd like some more chicks and learn about em I'd go on down their. I'm planning on buying a few chicks myself as I've done every year their. I really like raising chickens they're a lot of fun and I hope I keep on raising em throughout my life. If you have any questions just ask and I'll be glad to help and don't be scared to ask around. It never hurts to ask questions. And :welcome

I raise a buncha different kinds. I was going to raise Gold and Silver Lacer Wyandottes but my neighbors dog killed most of em and left me 2. So I'm gonna try White leghorns this year. I'm still kinda new to raising chickens so I want to raise different kinds once in awhile. I did raise Rhode Island Reds for awhile simply one of my favorites and my mom loved them but I'm switching to different breeds once in awhile.

I went to get my BLRWs and it turns out the hatchery was short like 600 so they didn't get any in. Decided to go see what was at Snohomish Co-Op and ended up with a SLW & a RIR (both breeds my husband wanted). I told him he could name them and he already had names ready: Patty & Ada. He's not a fan of our other pets (dogs, cats, rabbits), so it's funny how much he's getting into chickens! LoL!!
