Pet Peeves

A pet peeve I have lately is training the new girl to do my old job. Shes new, I get it. But she's making a lot of mistakes, no matter how many times I correct her. It's very hard for me to see someone do something that I did for 8 years and not go take over

Does she have written instructions, a SOP manual? Who has time to babysit a new hire? Give her a book of instructions. Then if she can't do the job it's obviously not your fault for failure to train her, it's her own fault for inability to follow instructions. Most of my jobs I started making an SOP from Day One.

My new socks are lint-ing all over the house, despite being washed (twice) inside out. 😑

Lint, in general, is a major pet peeve of mine. I have a wool throw blanket that I refuse to part with, and it generates a mini flock of sheep all over my floors, day after day.

There is no manual because that would be almost impossible. Her job is to ring out the kids that come through the lunch line and balance the drawer. A manual would be impossible because every kid is different on what is on their lunch tray. I did provide her with instructions on balancing the drawer and she has been training for two weeks. Two freakin weeks! It's really not a hard job, the worst part is calling the parents to tell them they owe lunch money. She likes to talk so she does that fine. But she keeps letting kids go through the line and makes them go negative when buying chips or cookies, not good. And she lets them leave when they don't have a complete meal on their tray even though I explain every day what makes a complete meal
