I’ve raised turkeys for years but generally don’t hatch because well, I have really bad luck keeping them alive long enough to get eggs. This year my trio was eaten by a bear that destroyed the coop door to get at them. Before they did however, they laid 3 eggs. I put all 3 in the incubator and surprisingly they all hatched. I had a black Spanish Tom over a bourbon red hen and a blue slate hen. Ended up with a rusty black, a chocolate one and a black/white/gray one. I noticed that the black one and the chocolate one came out bare faced but the rusty black one has a VERY obvious snood. Is there any link to sexing poults by snood or is it just a variance that I’ve never noticed before and means nothing?
