God knows we have had snow here as late as June so lets all pray this year is NOT one of those years, this is getting pretty ridiculous........
By now I usually have my garden tilled, my pens all cleaned and my yard raked of debris from the snow plows, but this year nothing is yet done!!! it's either raining sleeting hailing thundering or snowing or all of thee above, last 2 huge snow storms 10 inches 9in this 1 and 18 inches in the last one, have been with lightning thunder and everything imaginable. ITS MAKING ME CRAZYYYYYYYYYYY. Kim

It will not last too long I think. As for litterbox training chickens, I believe it can be done according to this one guy who is like a chicken whisperer. I don't recall his website at the moment--but if you are serious, I would try to find it for you.

only half serious. I have to share the basement aparment area with my mother, who is very ANTI chicken in the house. Me, I wanna keep one in my room as a pet lol. Right now ours are 4 weeks and have no coop to live in so there stuck in the brooder a bit longer. Gatta get outside and build the coop.

My aunt noticed when she stopped by the chicken yard to see me today that I was considerably more wet, cold and miserable than any of the birds and she got a good laugh out of that. I spend the morning configuring hay bales and windows to make solar houses for the babies to play in (had to change the layout from yesterday because one of the broodies has decided the other broody and her babies are the enemy) and then the afternoon disassembling them so I can coop everyone up. The big girls are happy if I just rake a path of dry straw to the barn.
Looks like rain all next week, but I guess that beats snow. Then it's officially mud season.
