Lots of snow melting and one bug muddy puddle in the run. The chickens are fight with it I think but I'm not. I was thinking about throwing sand on it but I figured that'd make it worse. What do I do?

Looks like the sun is on the other side of a pretty solid fence. Bummer as the sun would help it to dissipate.

I don't see snow in the picture.
Where is the water coming from?

If it is just the one small puddle and it is unlikely to grow in size sand, straw, or shavings can help.

The snow is on the other side of the fence. And the water is melting into the run.

If you think it's a big issue, you can remove the snow from the along the fence edge
I think that would probably make the biggest difference... since you would be removing all incoming water.

Since this looks like a temporary thing... I would just toss a pallet over the puddle and once things melt and dry out, then figure out how to sculpt the land, or raise the level of the run.

Chickens do what they do, they always try and find- inventive ways to drink gross water. Just keep supplying them with clean fresh. Things will dry up .

The snow around the fence is gone and that's how the puddle was made. I through some straw over it and it should keep them from drinking/walking into the water. I just want it dry before another snow storm
