When I was building my coop and run I was concerned about the potential snow load on the mesh over my run. I have seen runs with the mesh pushed all the way to the ground. With a one inch mesh you might think that the snow would fall through it. It doesn't, it very quickly sticks together on the mesh forming a roof. My run is 16'x16' and I put in 12 rafters to a center pole. If you live in a snow area you might want to consider this.

Good thought, opa. Mine is sheltered, so I'm not too worried.

But I know there are others out there that would be wise to think about your suggestion.

mine is just netting, so with every twitch of wind, it shifts. I didn't have much problem with snowloads on the netting last year, but I'll keep an eye out for any issues this winter.
