A little more on Snowflake Farm. The smaller gold laced Wyandotte(Thyme) had to have minor surgery in week 2....not sure how we missed it BUT she wasn't growing like her sister Rosemary and we had picked her up to check her out and discovered she had for lack of a better term duck feet. So we jumped online and checked here and YouTube and found it is not uncommon and easily corrected. We(Blyth)purchased the suggested supplies and worked up the courage to do the need surgery. Two clips of the skin and Thyme was a whole new little girl. Thyme still lags in size to her sister Rosemary but has twice the attitude....she is a great pullet. I'm not sure if this is common knowledge or not BUT when I pick up a bird they seem to calm right down if I turn them onto their back its almost like a switch goes off in them and they become still.
These two are Biscuit the darker and Grits the lighter color. We got these two GORGEOUS little girls 4 week after COCO,Rosemary and Thyme. They were sold to us as blue laced red Wyandottes...as you can see and much to our surprise are Blue Wyandottes and have captured our hearts like no other chickens we have ever had. They are so calm and CUTE we just adore them. We would like to add Blue laced red Wyandottes in the future BUT these Blue Wyandottes may win out and get more of them instead. I have prattle on long enough for today. Thank you for all your kind replies. image.000000(20).jpg image.000000(21).jpg
