It's only 19 degrees in the west side of Michigan along Lake Michigan......... Still way too cold for the middle of March!f

Today I stopped by the local store that sells jet skis, snowmobiles and all those type of toys. I asked if they had any shipping crates....... And I hit the jackpot!

I loaded up my 4' x 8' trailer with crates that had been taken apart from snowmobiles. I have about 10 of the small pieces and 10 of the large (maybe more... I don't know). LOL!

The small ones are 46" long x 38" tall (3'10" x 3' 2"). The long ones are 130" long x 38" tall (10'10"x 3'2").

I can't wait till the weather warms up so I can get outside and build!!!!

I already have a very nice 4'x4'x4' coop with 8' run (that you can see in my avatar). I'm thinking I will just use some of the small pieces and build a second small one for my 3 new chicks.

If nothing else, these will make some nice frames for the coop. Now I just need to come up with a plan.

To bad you couldn't use the new frames to add on to your other coop and make one big "chicken chalet"

The one that I already have is in our subdivision and I'm trying to "fly under the radar". I'm pretty certain that we aren't supposed to have chickens. I give the neighbors free eggs all the time so they don't mind. :)

But I like the idea of a bigger coop and run!!!!

That is an awesome idea! i live right around a dealer or two myself, sadly i no longer have a way to get them here.. with my truck not working. We built quite a few things from old ship crates one being a duck coop.

Good luck, love to see what you come up with!
