Cove started grawling again. He circled Lark to get him to go in the direction of the jail den.

Meadow watched how Cove interacted with Lark.

Cove noticed that Meadow was watching him, so he tried standing up a little taller and tried not to limp as badly. Then he locked his stare back on Lark and led him away to the jail den.

Meadow forced Finch to follow Cove and Lark.

Soon, they arrived at the jail den. Cove was still watching Lark carefully as he led him and still trying to look well to be in front of Meadow. If he said yes about being beta, he didn't want to look weak or having bad posture or anything of the sort. He wanted to look, and feel for his own self, like a beta.
