Konz had rolled around in the snow making his black fur a silvery gray. Afterwards he went to the humans that Akela was smelling earlier. He held his tail husky like and talked to the humans dogs. He told them that there wasn't anything worth hunting in this area, and to hunt somewhere else. The dogs believed Konz and led their humans in the opposite direction. They thanked Konz for the heads-up and he promised to help them whenever he could. He followed them a ways to make certain that they were really going the other way. When they were far enough away, Konz ran off into the forest pleased with himself.
