Lol I dont mean like maracas. I should have worded that better

I do treat mine like fine china. I have my eggs in a carton to hatch and I didn't want to move them and turn them to candle lol does me no good anyway because after like day 15/16 I can't tell heads from tails. Maybe I should have said disturb lol

Update....Out of 26 eggs total go in to lockdown yesterday, 11 pips this morning and one hatch. I think it's a splash silkie, or really light blue

He is dry, just not fluffed up yet.

I still had no pips this morning. Day 20. I did have a few hours of low temps in the beginning. So hopefully they will have pipped by the time I come home from work. Michele

ohhhhh! lucky!!! I lockdown at 9 tonight. I believe I have at least 4 late quitters.

But we'll see. I weighed them last night and they r perfect. Some have dips in their air cells already!!!

I set mine at 8am so today is 20/21 and nothing yet im starting to get worried.

I had one good dip too because our nights get so cold here even my heater can't keep up. I have silkies in so we will see. If nothing by tomorrow I'm going to pull one and look.

New update...

Today is day 20. Out of 25 silkies, I now have 7 hatched (2 splash, 1 white, 2 blue and 2 black, I think. sometimes it very hard to tell what color until they completly fluff up)

Also, a bunch piped. I can't tell how many because of chicks playing soccer

I will run home again in a few hours to do inventory. Hopefully I will have a busy night and day tomorrow!!!!

Don't you just love hatching babies.....I am still amazed at how selfsufficient they are a few hours after they hatch
