Candled my babies again last night all are doing well. 6 out of the 10. Not bad for shipped eggs. Can't wait lock down in three days.

I'm refusing to count and candle lol I pulled the bad ones tho. (can't totally not candle lol im addicted). I lock down on Nov. 1st

Nope, no babies yet. I go into lockdown on thursday night. The eggs look good though.

Day 17! Out of 29 silkie eggs, 2 weren't fertile, one made it to 3 days, and one to maybe 10 days....The rest are all moving, and look good!
This is my first attempt at incubating, and I haven't tried very hard, so am pretty pleased.
Haven't checked humidity at all, just been filling the water troughs in the bottom of the LG with auto turner.
So excited! I should have a rainbow of colors! (hopefully I didn't just jinx to get all blue).

I got my original 10 from a woman named MJ near Syracuse....she sold eggs on ebay, from show quality stock, so we drove and got 10 day old chicks. Of those, we kept 5 hens and one rooster. So these eggs are from our 6 chickens. I'm not really interested in showing, or anything, more just having unique colors and fluffy birds. Of course, the calico, splash, and 2 whites ended up being roosters, so we just have 2 blue, 2 black, and 2 buff with silver points....the rooster is my avatar...that's at about 4 months. Why? Want some

wow...thats really good! Sounds like you're gonna have a ton of adorable silkies! I'm hoping beyond all hope to get a lot of hatched silkies in all colors.
