I just brought these 6 week old chicks home, last Saturday. They have adjusted to their coop well, know how to get in and out of the fenced run, surround me when I bring treats out to them, and all are eating, drinking well. All the waste they produce looks the same. The last couple days they started laying around. If I come in or make noise they jump up and are alert. I am new to chickens, and I just want to make sure these little guys are not having issues. It's about 70* today. Most days have been about 65-70 with nighttime lows between 55-60. They go in and out of coop all day, they even dust/dirt bath. The majority of their fenced run is grass. They just seem to like this rocky area. The rocks got turned up from when they all started bathing there.

Thanks for any info.

Also, they just kinda lay down and stretch out when they do this. They clean themselves too sometimes while they are all sprawled out.

that's just them relaxing and sunbathing

Oh, good. I'm glad they aren't slowly dying off. lol I hoped they were just enjoying the new area, and not dying. I knew it was probably silly to ask.. but I don't really know chicken behavior yet.

Thanks :)

When I take my chicks out for the first time, they all come out and take a sunbath. They love it, most of them don't even make it a few inches out of the crate before they flop down and stretch out.
